In most cases, a Buyer and Seller won't meet until
closing. Therefore, a Seller must judge the strength of
a Buyer's offer based on the documentation that
accompanies it.
With this in mind, Door In Real Estate recommends
consulting with a reputable lender and obtaining a
prequalification letter prior to shopping for a home.
Doing this speaks volumes about a Buyer's capacity and
willingness to purchase a Seller's home.
With a prequalification letter from a reputable lender,
a Buyer can show a Seller that he or she is a great
candidate to purchase the home in consideration.
Furthermore, a Seller may be more flexible in their
negotiations. After all, a strong prequalification
letter sends a message to the Seller that this is a
“solid deal.”
Consulting with a reputable lender has another distinct
advantage. Doing so helps a Buyer better understand the
costs involved with a purchase, including interest
rates, taxes, insurance and monthly payments.
By getting a prequalification letter from a reputable
lender, a Buyer will have taken an important step
towards home ownership.
