An online property listing can only tell you so much.
We all know that many homeowners tend to embellish
a little. However, the opposite is also true. A seller
may have your ideal home, but just didn’t list or
describe it well. Some may list a particular model as
a 5 bedroom, while others may list the same home as
a 4 bedroom plus a den.
Square footage can also be misleading. Many homes
have their square footage incorrectly listed.
Furthermore, many floor plans make excellent use of
limited square footage and a home may seem larger
than the square footage reflects.
Another popular mistake is disqualifying a home
because it does not have a pool. If the property has
room for a pool, view it. The home may represent a
good value, or it may have everything else the buyer
needs to be happy.
Instead, view all homes that come close to meeting
your criteria. You may be pleasantly surprised to find
that many homes you might have originally
discounted possess the qualities you are looking for.
